OSHC & OVHC

What is OSHC & OVHC?

As clients are well-known, while Australia has a public Insurance System which is known as Medicare, overseas visitors or students are not eligible for this. This means that in any circumstances where one needs to be paying for their health care, the treatments can be really expensive. This is exactly the reason for this particular requirement.

OHSC (Overseas Student Health Cover) and OVHC (Overseas Visitor Health Cover) are two different types of insurance that are required when applicants apply for their visas.

OSHC needs to be approved for the entire time when an applicant is studying in Australia, and it covers only the applicant or the student who is the primary visa holder on a valid student visa subclass 500. Any clients who are eligible within this criteria are required to bridge on the visa and need to be applying for OSHC.

While OVHC is eligible to cover the overseas visitor along with the adult spouse or the de facto partner or also a kid that is under 18 years of age.
